like tomb-sweeping Festival, Ghost Festival, New Year\n\u6bcf\u5f53\u5230\u8fd9\u79cd\u6e05\u660e\u8282 \u4e2d\u5143\u8282 \u65b0\u5e74\n\nand other Buddhist commemorative days\n\u8fd8\u6709\u8fd9\u4e9b\u4f5b\u7684\u7eaa\u5ff5\u65e5\n\ntemples are usually very busy because many parishioners\n\u901a\u5e38\u5bfa\u9662\u90fd\u5f88\u5fd9 \u56e0\u4e3a\u6709\u5f88\u591a\u4fe1\u4f17\n\ngo there to burn incense and pray to Buddha and Bodhisattvas for blessings\n\u4f1a\u53bb\u70e7\u9999\u62dc\u4f5b \u7948\u6c42\u4f5b\u83e9\u8428\u52a0\u6301\n\nIn hope of being the first to offer incense\n\u80fd\u70e7\u4e00\u67f1\u5934\u9999\n\nbut now the price of the first to offer incense is very expensive. \n\u73b0\u5728\u8fd9\u4e2a\u982d\u9999 \u5e76\u4e14\u4ef7\u94b1\u90fd\u5f88\u8d35 \n\nAs a result, people have misunderstood the purpose of burning incense.\n\u6240\u4ee5\u5927\u5bb6 \u5c31\u628a\u8fd9\u4e2a\u4e0a\u9999 \u610f\u601d\u7ed9\u641e\u9519\u4e86 \n\nWhat is the purpose of burning incense\n\u6211\u4eec\u4e0a\u9999\u7684\u76ee\u7684\u5230\u5e95\u662f\u4ec0\u4e48 \n\nand how should we go about it?\n\u6211\u4eec\u9032\u9999\u5230\u5e95\u5e94\u8be5\u600e\u4e48\u8fdb \n\nThere is an ancient saying \"One stick of incense for a thousand Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.\"\n\u53e4\u8a9e\u4e91\u5343\u4f5b\u83e9\u8428\u4e00\u67f1\u9999\n\nIn fact, the purpose of visiting a temple and burning incense for blessings \n\u5176\u5b9e\u524d\u5f80\u5bfa\u9662\u9032\u9999\u7948\u798f\n\ndoes not depend on the quantity of incense or the amount of money spent\n\u5e76\u4e0d\u5728\u4e8e\u9999\u71ed\u7684\u591a\u5be1 \u4e5f\u4e0d\u5728\u65bc\u4ed6\u94b1\u7684\u591a\u5c11\n\nbut rather on the sincerity of our hearts.\n\u800c\u662f\u5728\u4e8e\u8981\u6709\u4e00\u9897\u81f3\u8aa0\u7684\u5fc3 \n\nIncense is a supporting condition for practice\n\u9999 \u662f\u4fee\u9053\u7684\u52a9\u7de3\n\nIts purpose is to calm our minds, enlighten our consciousness\n\u5176\u76ee\u7684\u662f\u8ba9\u4eba\u5fc3\u5b9a\u795e\u9759 \u5706\u6ee1\u89c9\u6027\u7684\n\nand awaken the incense of our wisdom.\n\u80fd\u5347\u8d77\u667a\u6167\u4e4b\u9999\n\nUsing incense as an offering in Buddhist practices\n\u4ee5\u4f17\u9999\u800c\u4f5c\u4f5b\u4e8b\n\nis still aimed at helping sentient beings to realize their true nature.\n\u5176\u5b97\u65e8\u4f9d\u7136\u662f\u8ba9\u4f17\u751f\u609f\u5165\u672c\u5fc3 \n\nMaster XingYun once said\n\u661f\u4e91\u5927\u5e2b\u66fe\u8a00 \n\nBurning incense and prostrating are not necessary. \n\u70e7\u9999 \u78d5\u5934\u6ca1\u5fc5\u8981 \n\nWhat is most important is to practice compassion towards others. \n\u884c\u6148\u60b2\u6700\u91cd\u8981 \n\nWe should ignite the flame of compassion in our hearts for society \n\u6240\u4ee5\u8981\u4e3a\u793e\u4f1a\u70b9\u71c3\u81ea\u5df1\u7684\u6148\u60b2\u5fc3\u9999\n\nrather than simply performing external rituals such as burning incense.\n\u800c\u4e0d\u662f\u5916\u5728\u7684\u8fd9\u4e2a\u5f62\u5f0f\u4e0a\u7684\u70e7\u9999 \n\nIn fact, in Buddhism, apart from physical incense\n\u5176\u5b9e\u5728\u4f5b\u6559\u4e2d \u9664\u4e86\u6709\u5f62\u7684\u9999\u4e4b\u5916\n\nthe offering of a \"mindful incense\" is also mentioned in the sutras \n\u7d93\u4e2d\u4e5f\u4ee5\u5fc3\u9999\u4f9b\u4f5b \n\nas a metaphor for sincere offering\n\u6765\u6bd4\u55bb\u81f3\u8aa0\u7684\u4f9b\u517b\n\nThis \"mindful incense\" is referred to as a single petal in the Buddhist teachings.\n\u4f5b\u95e8\u4e2d\u79f0\u4e3a\u5fc3\u9999\u4e00\u74e3 \n\n\"The Chronicle of Qingliang Mountain\" records that\n\u300a\u6e05\u51c9\u5c71\u5fd7\u300b\u8bb0\u8f7d\n\nduring the Sui Dynasty, the Ven. Jietuo of Wutai Mountain\n\u968b\u4ee3\u4e94\u53f0\u5c71\u7684\u89e3\u812b\u548c\u5c1a\n\nentered the monastic order and devoted himself to diligent practice with one mind\n\u51fa\u5bb6\u540e \u5236\u5fc3\u4e00\u5904 \u7cbe\u9032\u4fee\u6301\n\nOnce, he went to Daizhou to give precepts\n\u6709\u4e00\u6b21\u5230\u4ee3\u5dde\u50b3\u6212\n\nand on his way back\n\u56de\u6765\u7684\u8def\u4e0a\n\nhe suddenly wanted to burn incense and make offerings to the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas. \n\u7a81\u7136\u60f3\u8981\u711a\u9999 \u4f9b\u517b\u8bf8\u4f5b\u83e9\u8428 \n\nHowever, he had no offerings with him at the time.\n\u4f46\u662f\u5f53\u65f6\u8eab\u4e0a\u5e76\u6ca1\u6709\u5e26\u4efb\u4f55\u7684\u4f9b\u54c1\n\nAt that moment, a voice from the sky said\n\u6b64\u65f6 \u7a7a\u4e2d\u4f20\u6765\u4e86\u58f0\u97f3\n\n\"Put your palms together as flowers and your body as a tool for offerings.\n\u201c\u5408\u638c\u4ee5\u70ba\u83ef \u8eab\u70ba\u4f9b\u990a\u5177\n\nYour pure and compassionate heart is the true incense\n\u5584\u5fc3\u771f\u5be6\u9999\n\nand the fragrant clouds are singing your praises.\"\n\u8b9a\u6b4e\u9999\u96f2\u5e03\u201d\n\nVen. Jietuo knew this was a discourse from the Bodhisattvas and followed their guidance. \n\u89e3\u812b\u548c\u5c1a\u77e5\u9053\u8fd9\u662f\u83e9\u8428\u7684\u958b\u793a \u5c31\u4f9d\u6b64\u5b9e\u884c\n\nThen another voice from the sky said\n\u7a7a\u4e2d\u518d\u4f20\u58f0\u97f3 \n\n\"When the Buddhas smell this incense, they will come and save you.\n\u201c\u8af8\u4f5b\u805e\u6b64\u9999 \u6642\u5fa9\u4f86\u76f8\u5ea6\n\nWith diligent practice, there will be no doubt in realization.\"\n\u773e\u7b49\u52e4\u7cbe\u9032 \u7d42\u4e0d\u76f8\u7591\u609f\u201d\n\nThis story illustrates that burning incense \n\u53ef\u898b\u4e0a\u9999 \n\nIt's not how much money you paid for the first to offer incense\n\u4e0d\u662f\u82b1\u4e86\u591a\u5c11\u94b1 \u62a2\u4e86\u4e2a\u5934\u9999\n\nor how big the incense sticks are\n\u9999\u71ed\u6709\u591a\u5927\n\nbut about the sincerity of your heart.\n\u800c\u662f\u4f60\u7684\u81f3\u8aa0\u5fc3\n\nAs the saying goes, \"Heart arises is known by Buddha.\"\n\u6240\u8c13\u5fc3\u5230\u4f5b\u77e5 \n\nNext, here is a fascinating story from Rev. ZhuYun's\n\u4e0b\u9762\u5462 \u7ed9\u5927\u5bb6\u8bb2\u4e00\u4e2a\u716e\u96f2\u6cd5\u5e08\n\nbook \"The Legends and Miracles of Mount Putuo in the Southern Sea\"\n\u5728\u300a\u5357\u6d77\u666e\u9640\u5c71\u50b3\u5947\u7570\u805e\u9304\u300b\u4e2d\n\nA wonderful story described in the book.\n\u8bb0\u8f7d\u7684\u4e00\u4e2a\u7cbe\u5f69\u6545\u4e8b\n\n\"The Insincere Offering was   Returned '\n\u300a\u6765\u610f\u4e0d\u8aa0 \u9000\u56de\u539f\u5904\u300b\n\nThe Story of Pilgrims Offering Incense and Bodhisattva Manifesting Sanctity\n\u9999\u5ba2\u9032\u9999 \u83e9\u8428\u663e\u5723\u7684\u6545\u4e8b \n\nThis is a wonderful and very interesting story.\n\u8fd9\u4e2a\u662f\u5f88\u7cbe\u5f69\u7684 \u975e\u5e38\u6709\u610f\u601d \n\nDuring a large-scale temple fair\n\u90a3\u4e2a\u65f6\u5019\u5927\u9999\u4f1a\u671f\u95f4\n\nmany pilgrims came to offer incense and candles.\n\u524d\u5bfa\u7684\u9999\u5ba2 \u8fdb\u9999\u737b\u71ed\u5f88\u591a\u5f88\u591a\n\nAlthough there were many candle stands before the altar\n\u867d\u7136\u4f5b\u524d\u7684\u71ed\u53f0\u4e0d\u5c11\n\nThere were still insufficient to accommodate the overwhelming number of visitors.\n\u53ef\u662f\u5927\u6279\u7684\u9999\u5ba2\u6d8c\u8fdb\u6765\u7684\u65f6\u5019 \u8fd8\u662f\u65e0\u6cd5\u5e94\u4ed8\u7684\n\nNew candles were brought in before the previous ones had even been burnt\n\u8fd9\u679d\u71ed\u624d\u521a\u63d2\u4e0a \u90a3\u679d\u71ed\u53c8\u9001\u8fdb\u6765\u4e86\n\ncreating a continuous cycle of swapping out the unburnt candles\n\u53ea\u6709\u628a\u672a\u70b9\u5b8c\u7684\u71ed\u9999 \u62ff\u4e0b\u6765 \u6362\u4e0a\u65b0\u7684\u71ed\u9999\n\ncontinuously\n\u5982\u6b64\u4e0d\u65ad\u7684\n\nThe swapped unburnt candles piled up and weighed several hundred catties each day.\n\u8c03\u6362\u4e0b\u6765\u7684\u5269\u71ed\u6bcf\u5929\u5c31\u6709\u597d\u51e0\u767e\u65a4\u91cd\n\nEspecially, the pilgrims from Hangzhou and Shanghai \n\u5c24\u5176\u662f\u676d\u5dde\u7684\u9999\u5ba2 \u4e0a\u6d77\u7684\u9999\u5ba2\n\nthey brought in 100-catties pair of candles\n\u4f5b\u524d\u7684\u4f9b\u71ed\u90fd\u662f100\u65a4\u4e00\u5bf9\u7684\n\nor 50-catties pair of candles\n\u6216\u800550\u65a4\u4e00\u5bf9\u7684\u9001\u8fdb\u6765\n\nIf the incense boat arrives, it comes in with couple loads of large wax candles. \n\u5982\u679c\u9999\u8239\u4e00\u5230 \u90fd\u6709\u597d\u51e0\u53f0\u662f\u5927\u8721\u70db\n\nThose who could let go\n\u653e\u5f97\u4e0b\u7684\u4eba\n\nsaw the candle master put out some of his offerings\n\u770b\u89c1\u9999\u71c8\u5e08\u628a\u4ed6\u7684\u8ca2\u71ed\u7184\u706d\u4e86\n\nIt doesn't bother him, he knows it is an unavoidable situation.\n\u5012\u4e5f\u65e0\u6240\u8c13 \u77e5\u9053\u8fd9\u662f\u4e0d\u5f97\u5df2\u7684\u4e8b\u60c5\n\nThere is also a saying\n\u540c\u65f6\u8fd8\u6709\u4e00\u53e5\u4fd7\u8bed\n\n\"Heart knows the way to Buddha.\"\n\u6240\u8c13\u5fc3\u5230\u4f5b\u77e5\n\n\"Money enters the temple, blessings return to the donor.\"\n\" \u9322\u9032\u5c71\u9580 \u798f\u6b78\u65bd\u4e3b\u201c\n\nAs long as one has paid and made a sincere wish\n\u53ea\u8981\u51fa\u4e86\u94b1 \u53d1\u4e86\u5fc3\n\none hands over his incense and candles to the temple\n\u6211\u7684\u9999\u71ed\u4ea4\u7ed9\u4e86\u6bbf\u4e3b\u5e2b\n\nIt is up to the temple to burn them or not.\n\u968f\u4ed6\u70e7\u9999 \u4e0d\u70e7\u9999 \u70b9\u71c3\u4e0d\u70b9\u71c3\n\nIn any case, one's wish has been fulfilled.\n\u603b\u4e4b \u6211\u7684\u5fc3\u613f\u5df2\u4e86\u4e86\n\nHowever, there are some people who don't understand the meaning of pilgrimage\n\u53ef\u662f\u6709\u4e00\u79cd\u4e0d\u77e5\u9032\u9999\u610f\u4e49\u7684\u4eba\n\nand can't let go of their hearts. \n\u4ed6\u7684\u5fc3\u5c31\u653e\u4e0d\u4e0b\u6765\u4e86\n\nWhen they see that their incense and candles have not been completely burned.\n\u770b\u89c1\u4eba\u5bb6\u628a\u4ed6\u62ff\u6765\u7684\u9999\u70db\u6ca1\u6709\u70b9\u5b8c \u6ca1\u6709\u70b9\u5149\n\nThey become unhappy.\n\u4ed6\u5c31\u5fc3\u91cc\u4e0d\u5f00\u5fc3\u4e86\n\nThere was a pilgrim who came from a distant place to visit the mountain temple.\n\u6709\u4e00\u4e2a\u8fdc\u9053\u800c\u6765\u671d\u5c71\u7684\u9999\u5ba2\n\nHe was rich, and bought large candles\n\u56e0\u4e3a\u4ed6\u5f88\u6709\u94b1 \u6240\u4ee5\u4e70\u6765\u7684\u4f9b\u71ed\u76f8\u5f53\u7684\u5927\n\nthat weighed around fifty to sixty catties a pair\n\u5dee\u4e0d\u591a\u6709\u4e94\u516d\u5341\u65a4\u4e00\u5bf9\n\nWhen he arrived at the temple\n\u4ed6\u5230\u524d\u5bfa\u9032\u9999\u6642 \n\nit was crowded with many people coming to worship\n\u6b63\u662f\u8fdb\u9999\u7684\u4eba\u6700\u591a\u7684\u65f6\u5019\n\nand the candle master was busy lighting candles for the pilgrims. \n\u9999\u71c8\u5e2b\u5fd9\u7740\u4e3a\u9999\u5ba2\u70b9\u8721\u70db \u771f\u662f\u5fd9\u5f97\u4e0d\u4ea6\u4e50\u4e4e\u554a\n\nThe pilgrim asked the candle master to light his pair of large candles\n\u8fd9\u4f4d\u9999\u5ba2\u628a\u4ed6\u7684\u4e00\u5bf9\u5927\u8721\u70db\n\nbut soon after\n\u8bf7\u9999\u706f\u5e08\u70b9\u8d77\u6765 \u521a\u63d2\u5728\u71ed\u53f0\u4e0d\u4e45\n\nother pilgrims arrived and the candle master had to light their candles\n\u53c8\u6709\u5176\u4ed6\u7684\u9999\u5ba2\u5c06\u71ed\u9001\u6765 \u53eb\u9999\u71c8\u5e2b\u53bb\u70b9\n\nso the pair of large candles were extinguished\n\u6240\u4ee5\u5c31\u628a\u8fd9\u4f4d\u9999\u5ba2\u7684\u4e00\u5bf9\u5927\u8721\u70db\u7184\u4e0b\u6765\u4e86\n\nand left unlit. \n\u64f1\u653e\u8457\u6ca1\u70b9\n\nand continue lighting the candles of the other pilgrims\n\u518d\u70b9\u5176\u4ed6\u7684\u9999\u5ba2\u7684\u71ed\n\nThe pilgrim was very dissatisfied and accused the monks \n\u56e0\u6b64 \u8fd9\u4f4d\u65bd\u4e3b\u5c31\u5927\u5927\u7684\u4e0d\u6ee1\u610f\u5bfa\u4e2d\u7684\u548c\u5c1a\n\nof being greedy\n\u5c31\u8bf4 \u548c\u5c1a\u8d2a\u5fc3\n\nintentionally not lighting his candles and keeping them to sell for money\n\u6709\u610f\u628a\u4ed6\u8fd9\u4e00\u5bf9\u5927\u71ed\u4e0d\u80af\u70b9 \u5b58\u4e0b\u6765\u5356\u94b1\n\nIn anger, he took his young son and left the temple.\n\u4e00\u6012\u4e4b\u4e0b \u5c31\u5e26\u7740\u968f\u6765\u7684\u5c0f\u513f\u5b50\u56de\u53bb\u4e86\n\nUnexpectedly\n\u54ea\u77e5\u8fd9\u4e2a\u7231\u5b50\n\nthe beloved son fell ill and died on the way home. \n\u4e0d\u5e78\u5728\u534a\u9014\u5f97\u75c5\u6b7b\u4e86\n\nThe man had no choice but to buy a coffin\n\u8fd9\u4f4d\u5148\u751f\u4e5f\u5c31\u65e0\u53ef\u5948\u4f55\u7684\u4e70\u4e86\u4e00\u53e3\u68fa\u6750\n\nput his son inside, and bring him home for burial\n\u628a\u4ed6\u7684\u7231\u5b50\u88c5\u8fdb\u53bb \u5e26\u56de\u5bb6\u4e2d\u57cb\u846c\n\nBut when he arrived home he was surprised to see \n\u54ea\u77e5\u4e00\u5230\u5bb6\u4e2d\u770b\u89c1\n\nhis supposedly deceased child come out to greet him\n\u8fd9\u4e2a\u5df2\u6b7b\u7684\u5c0f\u5b69\u5b50\u51fa\u6765\u63a5\u4ed6\n\nHe was stunned by this strange turn of events.\n\u8fd9\u4e00\u6765\u628a\u4ed6\u6123\u4f4f\u4e86\n\nThe child had clearly died on the way back from the pilgrimage\n\u660e\u660e\u8fd9\u4e2a\u5b69\u5b50\u540c\u6211\u53bb\u8fdb\u9999 \u5728\u534a\u9014\u6b7b\u53bb\u4e86\u5440\n\nso how could he be alive and well now?\n\u4e3a\u4ec0\u4e48\u53c8\u6d3b\u5728\u4eba\u4e16 \u4ecd\u7136\u672a\u6b7b\u5462\n\nThis was truly an extraordinary story.\n\u8fd9\u771f\u53ef\u8bf4\u662f\u5343\u53e4\u5947\u95fb\u4e86\n\nThe man mustered up his courage and asked\n\u56e0\u6b64\u5927\u7740\u80c6\u5b50\u95ee\u9053\n\n\"Didn't you follow me to Mount Putuo for pilgrimage? \n\u4f60\u4e0d\u662f\u968f\u6211\u53bb\u666e\u9640\u5c71\u8fdb\u9999\u4e86\u5417\n\nWhy are you here at home now?\"\n\u4e3a\u4ec0\u4e48\u73b0\u5728\u53c8\u5728\u5bb6\u91cc\u5462 \n\nHis son replied, \"That day \n\u513f\u5b50\u56de\u7b54\u4ed6\u8bf4 \u90a3\u5929\u968f\u7238\u7238\u56de\u6765\n\nwhen we left the mountain gate, I didn't know where you went\n\u4e00\u8d70\u51fa\u5c71\u95e8\u5916 \u5c31\u4e0d\u77e5\u9053\u7238\u7238\u53bb\u54ea\u4e86\n\nI searched for you for a long time but couldn't find you.\n\u6211\u5bfb\u4e86\u597d\u4e45 \u8fd8\u662f\u627e\u4e0d\u5230\u4f60\n\nThen, I met an old man who brought me back home. \n\u6b63\u597d\u9047\u89c1\u4e86\u4e00\u4e2a\u8001\u4eba \u627f\u4ed6\u628a\u6211\u9001\u56de\u6765\u4e86\n\nI have been back for several days loss\n\u4ed6\u7684\u7238\u7238\u5982\u540c\u96f2\u88e1\u9727\u88e1\u7684\u6478\u4e0d\u5230\u5934\u8111\u4e86\n\nobviously his son had died\n\u660e\u660e\u8fd9\u4e2a\u5b69\u5b50\u5df2\u7ecf\u6b7b\u4e86\n\nas he had personally put the child into the coffin. \n\u662f\u6211\u4eb2\u624b\u628a\u4ed6\u653e\u8fdb\u68fa\u4e2d\u7684\n\nHe couldn't believe that his son had come back to life and return earlier\n\u4e0d\u77e5\u4ed6\u4ece\u4ec0\u4e48\u65f6\u5019\u6d3b\u8f6c\u8fc7\u6765\u7684\u5462 \u8fd8\u5728\u6211\u524d\u9762\u5230\u5bb6\n\nHe can't quite believe it\n\u6709\u70b9\u4e0d\u592a\u76f8\u4fe1\u4e86\n\nand suspected that he had turned into a ghost to haunt him.\n\u6050\u6015\u8fd9\u5c0f\u5b69\u662f\u53d8\u6210\u5c0f\u9b3c\u6765\u4f5c\u795f\u6211\u7684\n\nWithout much thought, he decided to open the coffin\n\u4e0d\u7ba1\u4e09\u4e03\u4e8c\u5341\u4e00  \u5148\u628a\u5e26\u56de\u6765\u7684\u68fa\u6750\n\nthat way, he can get to the conclusion\n\u6253\u5f00\u6765\u770b\u770b \u90a3\u65f6\u4fbf\u898b\u5206\u66c9\u4e86\n\nHe asked someone to open the coffin in front of him\n\u5f53\u9762\u53eb\u4eba\u628a\u68fa\u6750\n\nOpen it up and have a look\n\u6253\u5f00\u6765\u4e00\u770b\n\nand to his surprise, instead of the child's corpse\n\u54ea\u77e5\u68fa\u6750\u91cc\u5df2\u7ecf\u4e0d\u662f\u653e\u5b69\u5b50\u7684\u6b7b\u5c38\u4e86\n\nthere were two large candles in it.\n\u7adf\u53d8\u6210\u4e86\u4e00\u5bf9\u5927\u8721\u70db\n\nIt was as if it was a magic trick\n\u8fd9\u597d\u50cf\u8b8a\u6232\u6cd5\u4e00\u6837\u7684\u6709\u8da3\n\nand on the pair of candles, there were eight big characters that read\n\u5728\u90a3\u5bf9\u8721\u70db\u4e0a \u8fd8\u73fe\u51fa\u516b\u4e2a\u5927\u5b57\n\n\"You came with insincere intentions, and so it has been returned to its original place.\"\n\u201d\u6765\u610f\u4e0d\u8aa0 \u9000\u56de\u539f\u5904\u201c\n\nThis incident made the gentleman feel ashamed and guilty.\n\u8fd9\u4e00\u6765\u53ef\u628a\u8fd9\u4f4d\u5148\u751f\u5f04\u5f97\u65e2\u615a\u53c8\u6127\n\nHe knelt down and prayed insuppressible \n\u8dea\u4e0b\u6765\u5c31\u62dc\u79b1\u4e0d\u6b62\n\nIt was the manifestation of Guanyin Bodhisattva\n\u539f\u6765\u8fd9\u662f\u89c2\u97f3\u83e9\u8428\u986f\u8056\n\nSince then, every year\n\u4ece\u6b64\u4ee5\u540e \u6bcf\u5e74\n\nHe bought big candles and went to Mount Putuo to offer incense.\n\u90fd\u4e70\u5f88\u5927\u7684\u8721\u70db\u5230\u666e\u9640\u5c71\u53bb\u8fdb\u9999\u4e86\n\nHe would no longer argue with the monks about whether to light candles or not.\n\u518d\u4e5f\u4e0d\u548c\u9999\u71c8\u5e08\u4eec\u4e89\u8bba \u8981\u70b9\u8721\u70db\u4e0d\u70b9\u8721\u70db\u4e86\n\nThe true purpose of offering incense is\n\u771f\u6b63\u7684\u9032\u9999\n\nto awaken our dormant wisdom\n\u662f\u8981\u5524\u9192\u81ea\u5df1\u6c89\u7761\u7684\u89c9\u6027\n\ngenerate bodhicitta, and dedicate ourselves to benefiting others. \n\u53d1\u83e9\u63d0\u5fc3 \u5949\u732e\u5927\u4f17\n\nWisdom and the fragrance of our heart blend together\n\u89c9\u6027\u4e0e\u5fc3\u9999\u76f8\u878d\n\nJust as the Chapter on Great Power Bodhisattva's Perfect Liberation of \n\u6b63\u50cf\u5927\u52e2\u81f3\u83e9\u8428\u5ff5\u4f5b\u5713\u901a\u7ae0\n\nChanting Buddha name\n\u6240\u4e91\n\n\"Like a person who dyes fragrance,  his body exudes fragrance\n\u201d\u5982\u67d3\u9999\u4eba \u8eab\u6709\u9999\u6c14\n\nand this is called the adornment of incense light.\"\n\u6b64\u5219\u540d\u66f0\u9999\u5149\u5e84\u4e25\u201c\n\nThis story tells us the true purpose of offering incense\n\u8fd9\u4e2a\u6545\u4e8b\u5c31\u544a\u8bc9\u6211\u4eec \u6211\u4eec\u4e0a\u9999\u7684\u76ee\u7684\u5230\u5e95\u662f\u4ec0\u4e48\n\nIt is not about how much money we spend \n\u5e76\u4e0d\u662f\u6211\u4eec\u82b1\u4e86\u591a\u5c11\u94b1\n\nor whether we get to be the first to offer incense\n\u662f\u5426\u62a2\u4e86\u5934\u9999\n\nThose things are not important. \n\u8fd9\u4e9b\u90fd\u4e0d\u91cd\u8981\n\nThe most important thing is to light the incense of our heart\n\u5176\u5b9e\u6700\u91cd\u8981\u7684 \u70b9\u71c3\u6211\u4eec\u7684\u5fc3\u9999\n\noffer incense with a sincere heart, and pay respects to the Buddha\n\u81f3\u8aa0\u5fc3\u53bb\u4e0a\u9999 \u793c\u62dc\u656c\u4f5b\n\nThis generates the
